How does targeting work?

I wrote this article for a mental health periodical, but they said it might upset a person who’s got psychosis.  But I think its worthy in that it proves gaslighting can happen via the step to step guide that follows.  I will not go into how gaslighting effects the target, only that it causes psychosis.

Tips on not getting gaslighted.  Beware of being brought into new social groups but friendships have to start somewhere.  Don’t take drugs with people you don’t know well.  Beware of experiencing rapid changes in your belief systems.  Although flying the nest and leaving home can leave you open,  it can also give you a different perspective on things.  Don’t worry about leaving these people they will make you feel you’ve been fortunate to get these “new friends!”  You can start again, just start over, if they have control of you leave the job or school or university and take time to sort your head out.  They’ll have conditioned you into behaving a certain way.

You may have lost desires and what you want to achieve in life may have changed, nothing wrong with this.

The CIA did an investigation into ritual abuse and came up with nothing but it still scares me thinking back to when targeted.

Being gaslighted or targeted.

Many times voice hearers have said they have become voice hearers due to a process of being “targeted” or “gaslighted.”  And as the process is psychological and one word over another’s never has this allegation been proved and rarely conceived by people who haven’t experienced it.  As the two terms exist there must be something to it?

I feel the best way to illustrate “targeting” is to give you a step by step account on how to do accomplish driving a person to the horrible loaded misunderstood word – “insanity.”  If people know how it’s done maybe they won’t fall for it.

The term “gaslighting” comes from a theatrical play about a guy who manipulates his wife into thinking their deteriorating relationship is caused by her and that she is really a horrible person, but the boyfriend was using certain techniques to achieve this.  The most common one is undermining her distress saying she is overthinking things. It was called “gaslighted.”

There is a Scandinavian film called “Funny Games” about gaslighting more later.

Yet many people including myself would claim to be a victim of gaslighting or being targeted.  Doctors see it as a delusion yet if the words exist in common language then they must have a basis in fact.

So I thought the only way for this to be recognized is to explain how one would go about this or rather how a group of individuals would.  There are some books on the market but they seem tepid and refer to how to identify toxic relationships.  So from here I will refer to “gaslighting” as targeting.

What sort of person does targeting work on best and why do they do this?

Well they do it for enjoyment and I will go into the elements that make it , for them, fun and empowering, I describe this behaviour as “satanic” but not all people who are satanists would allow themselves to be involved.

But what kind of person is best suited?  They will look for someone who lacks a strict moral code, at the time this is initiated.  This they feel justifies what they do.  They will also look for someone trusting. I am not sure how doing this on a psychopath would turn out.  They will try for someone who isn’t particularly sexual active, not by choice.  They will look for someone trying to find a new social group, who is maybe lonely. Someone damaged emotionally.

It often takes place in places like a university or with someone who has just started working at your place of employment.    Or people may “recruit” in churches or speed dating for instance.  They have to make the person positive about joining a new social group where everyone (you need about five) already knows each other.  But you could fake this and pretend some of you don’t know each other and are “new” too.

The more lies you tell the person the better, even if they aren’t “sore” lies, meaning that they don’t generally hurt the person, the targeted [from now on referred to as “Bob.”] If you [now called the “team] put a plan into action you’ve invested an energy/effort in doing so and this “energy” will act, become more apparent as things progress and it will directly effect the targeted’s psyche. The theory of conversation of energy, but this jungean type stuff isn’t accepted mainstream but you might as well look out for it.  Much like an inverted prayer if you want an analogy.

What are the team trying to achieve.  They are trying to drive Bob insane, to live in a reality the team have created, to make someone loose touch with reality.  But also to observe Bob in a psychological way, to strip the layers of his learned behaviour and see what happens, oh and because it gives the team a point and this is incredibly fun to them – making plans, reviewing how Bob  reacted, whether to “develop” this tack more or try something else out.  That is fun for these people, and addictive.

So how do the team start once they’ve found this socially awkward fellow of low morals?  Well basically make the person feel they have naturally been inducted into a group of new friends.  If you smoke weed pressurize the target to smoke.  Also get them to play Ouija board and fix it to say stuff about him.  But when Bob talks react but react as little as you can.  Don’t give Bob special attention.  If Bob keeps saying something the team keep saying,

“I don’t understand.”   “Can you repeat??”  “I’ve never heard that.”  And sound patient. Only acknowledge when he’s visibly annoyed.  It’s a bit like fishing where you sometimes have to let the line out but ultimately try and bring them it.  This is the start of what psychology calls “conditioning.”   And so do this for four nights worth but don’t try too hard

This “conditioning” is where when you positively reinforce behaviour in the way you might train a dog.  Except here the team are lowering the Bob’s confidence by “conditioning” not reward.  When he says something encourage him but make sure you don’t take gratification from what they say just smile and nod, don’t develop it, change the subject to a subject you’ve already agreed on.  But remember the “fishing” allegory you don’t want him to leave.

Or every time they bring up a subject feign complete ignorance even if he breaks it down, do this until its kind of lost the point but nod and be kind.  Never outwardly be unkind, actually plan a member of the group to say something unkind and everyone else comes to the target’s aid.

Talk about conspiracy theories and the team feign belief in this or not.  It can go two ways, the target either doesn’t believe in them or he does.  If he doesn’t keep talking on agreed tac and everyone agree “this” has to be real.  If the target does believe make him explain it until its painstaking like before, again feign you don’t understand or be reluctant and the social group doesn’t say anything just the target on his own.  This kind of stuff begins to shatter the targets willingness to express themselves.  Other examples of this are views on non heterosexual relationships where if he believes you don’t and vice versa.  Or the belief in the afterlife.  Prepare well before Bob visits that day.  Research thoroughly and the five team members should by logical argument drive Bob to the ground no matter which viewpoint Bob has.  Use these “debates” to make Bob unsure of his believes and unwilling to delve into such controversy.  The team should not use this too often and try and keep the illusion of socialising at all time.

Another thing that is very important is changing how events happened or what people have said.  Rehearse how to do this.  Say you all went out for chinese food and Bob says [ the next time you meet] to a group member how he liked his chicken, say he had duck and everyone agree.  Do this often.  You might comment on the target’s bad memory.

Again the team make stupid comments about a film or tv show that is obviously not completely correct and the team all agrees and even embellishes this.  Decide a few while Bob is not around.  Bob might start to google on his phone, the team must discourage this and say to Bob – “You’re being antisocial or rude.”  If by reasoned argument Bob does win be silent and seem slightly insulted.  The whole team glare at him, but always the fishing analogy don’t drive him away.   Have a team codeword to say if you think the teams’ activity will drive him away permanently.

Soon he will be very wary about expressing himself and you’ll notice Bob struggling what to say.  You will see his brain cogs working and when you do feel he wants to say something but is scared; include him.  This make him think you want to help him, on his side.

Here is another ploy for the team.  Don’t like restaurants he takes you to.  Encourage Bob to take you somewhere he likes then say as a team, “We didn’t really like it.”  But not rude.  Then regarding the film “Funny Games” accidentally break things, like knock over his drink.  Here the person who does the damage is backed up by rest of team.  Other damage things are if he wears a stone island jumper tug the label off like you think Bob had missed this.  Again the team say “easy mistake Bob.”  If he’s rolling a joint trip into him and knock it everywhere, team backs you up.

Talk about Bob when he’s with you but use the prefix “she.”  If he asks “are you talking about me?”  say “No.”  Discourage people who approach Bob socially.  Always sit in same group in bar when Bob is about, if anyone talks to Bob make them nervous and unwelcome.

When Bob is stoned, if he does smoke have discussions about “breaking your programming.” About unlearning truths you have picked up in childhood and adolescence.  Take about telepathy and imply that the team exists around him but only with hints.  When Bob’s extremely worried tell him you “know a man and that the team talk to him about Bob.”  Make Bob believe there’s a bigger picture and that he is not included in it yet.  If he brings these ideas up in conversation another time don’t deny but don’t go into it at all.  At this stage paranoia will be developing in Bob always hint there is a bigger picture.

Have social gatherings the odd time but don’t invite Bob and make sure Bob hears about it.  Boast to non team members how nasty Bob is and all the team should embellish this, even bring new people on board.  If he asks why he wasn’t invited say the team forgot, couldn’t find him or something.

The most important element in this pitiful exercise is the team.  This is why you’re doing it.  Team fellowship will show you new ways of tormenting Bob and give you a sense of power and a social thrill.  Teams that do this are scum in the author’s point of view. But I am explaining it in this immoral way to show you how it works.

Make up projects like have a discussion that you propose to Bob that as a group you make a film and everyone should put in ideas but use the film “Usual Suspects.”  And make it look like the team is inventing this on the spot, it doesn’t matter if Bob has seen the movie or not.  If he says its’s already been done just ignore him and deny knowledge again as a team and continue making up copied ideas.

My name is Pete Brown.  This all happened to me at a university, did it make me telepathic?  I don’t know.  Could they have totally destroyed me?  Yes.  But I spat out the hook and left after I began to hear them out of the walls.  There will never be any justice, it was some 25 years ago but even on medication I am slightly psychotic, even still.  But I beat them, I am happy.  Yet I have no ambition nor do I feel part of this world anymore.

I began to talk to these voices and my psychology slipped from the team voices to people/voices less harmful as I physically left the team’s company.

The mind, Buddhists liken, is a bone or a muscle and it can get broke and this “team” succeeded in breaking my mind, no plaster or caste will fix it.  But I am happy, I have no worldly desires of money, power or sex, I live, go to voices group, play bridge, the violin, go to cinema, play pétanque and call of Cthulhu.  I have a car to get about.  But a few times a week these evil powers surround me and I become defeated for a couple of hours until they go away.

Never be afraid to go against the consensus in social situations.  Theres nothing wrong with dropping out and doing something easier if your workplace is toxic.  I believe spirituality and morality are connected.  You can’t have one without the other.

When you become moral then spiritual you’ll find mindlessness comes easier.  Live with your voices.

Oh and a couple of more things.  Deny knowledge of  famous historical events and ask Bob to explain, like,

“Wasn’t Hitler in the first world war?” or

“What is pi?” or anything really.  It gives Bob a chance to talk while being controlled, keep him talking.

Also a more difficult one is to get an outsider in with the point they talk continuously for a whole hour and nobody question the social rudeness of it, if Bob does everyone should say that Bobs being really rude.
